Commitment

National Grid Pakistan aims to make its public website usable by the widest possible audience, including people using assistive technologies, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice input or simplified browsing settings.

The website carries public-interest information about transmission infrastructure, notices, procurement, careers, documents and stakeholder contact routes. Access to that information should not depend on a specific device, browser or input method.

Accessibility standard

National Grid Pakistan should target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.1 Level AA for new website templates, public forms and core content journeys.

Where older documents, scanned files, maps or third-party material cannot immediately meet that standard, the site should identify the limitation and provide a contact route for accessible alternatives where reasonably possible.

Supported features

The site design should support predictable navigation, readable text, sufficient contrast and content that remains usable on desktop, tablet and mobile screens.

• Skip-to-content link for keyboard users.
• Visible keyboard focus states for links, buttons and form fields.
• Semantic headings, landmarks and labels for screen-reader navigation.
• Descriptive link text for documents, tenders, notices and contact routes.
• Alternative text for meaningful images and empty alt text for decorative images.
• Form labels, instructions and error messages that do not rely on color alone.
• Documents that include publication date, file type and owner wherever available.

Documents and maps

National Grid Pakistan publishes technical and statutory material that may include PDFs, drawings, tables, maps, scanned notices and large documents. New documents should be prepared from accessible source files wherever possible.

Maps and grid diagrams should include a text summary of the main information so users who cannot inspect the visual map can still understand the public meaning of the content.

Known limitations

Some legacy PDFs, archived notices, scanned documents, engineering drawings, interactive maps or embedded third-party services may not yet be fully accessible.

National Grid Pakistan should prioritize remediation for high-traffic public documents, active tenders, recruitment notices, project consultation material and legally required disclosures.

Accessibility feedback

Users who experience an accessibility barrier should include the page address, a short description of the issue, the device and browser used, and any assistive technology involved.

National Grid Pakistan should acknowledge accessibility feedback within five working days and route urgent access issues affecting active tenders, recruitment deadlines or public consultations to the relevant content owner.
