How Electricity Reaches You

Electricity travels through three connected stages. National Grid Pakistan is responsible for transmission: the high-voltage infrastructure between power stations and distribution networks.

We plan and build connections, operate transmission assets, and inspect and maintain the lines and equipment. National Grid Pakistan does not generate electricity or supply it directly to households.

One Network Connecting The Country

Power stations and the communities they serve can be far apart. Transmission corridors connect them across regions, while grid stations provide the junctions between lines and voltage levels.

Improving the grid

Reliable Power Takes Continuous Work

Keeping a transmission network working involves more than adding new lines. Existing equipment needs inspection, maintenance and renewal throughout its service life.

Maintain Connections Already In Service

Inspections help identify wear or damage. Planned maintenance gives teams time to repair equipment, while protection and monitoring systems help detect faults and limit their effects.

Prepare For Tomorrow's Demand

As demand grows and new power stations connect, the network needs enough capacity to carry their electricity. Development can involve upgrading equipment, strengthening existing links or building new connections.
